Women with Cows

79-year-old Britt Georgsson has devoted her entire life to cows. She’s been tending them since the age of four and despite health problems, she has no intention of abandoning her exhausting work caring for her twelve pet cows on the rundown family farm. She often dreams about her cows and does the everyday work even though a debilitating back injury means she has to walk with her severely crooked back. Her little sister Ingrid lives in a nearby village; she can’t stand the cows but even so, she generally helps her sister to look after the family farm.

A remarkable documentary about two sisters with diametrically opposed views on the usefulness of cows. When the authorities are threatening their farm, the story takes an unexpected turn.

The result can be viewed in this film, the book Women with Cows and the photo exhibition Women with Cows.
